On March 14th, Song Lianlian, the daughter of Wang Yaoshan (formerly known as Song Shumo), a member of the League of Leftist Writers, personally presented a set of 1948 edition of Complete Works of Lu Xun (20 volumes in total) printed by the Memorial Committee of Lu Xun and the Writers’ Bookstore to the memorial hall of the League of Leftist Writers.
According to Song Lianlian, the origin of this set of books is quite special: it was first collected by Hu Feng, and then Hu Feng presented the autographed books to Wang Yaoshan. Hu Feng is a modern literary theorist, poet and literary translator. During his early study in Japan, he was the head of the Tokyo Branch of the Chinese Left-wing Writers’ Union. After returning to China in 1933, he served as the propaganda minister and administrative secretary of the Chinese Left-wing Writers’ Union. Lu Xun appreciates Hu Feng very much, and Hu Feng is also a close comrade-in-arms of Lu Xun. In 1932, Wang Yaoshan joined the Left League, worked in the Party organization of the Left League, and published many novels, poems and essays in left-wing journals. In the autumn of 1934, he served as the organization minister of the Left League and was also a member of the Left League. In May 1949, Wang Yaoshan, then the political commissar of the South Cadre Column of the People’s Liberation Army, reunited with Hu Feng after a long separation, so Hu Feng signed and presented a complete set of Lu Xun’s Complete Works, which has been collected by Wang Yaoshan ever since. This set of books is not only a historical witness of the Left League, but also a precious revolutionary cultural relic.
The theme of this "Red Treasure" collection tasting will be "Mr. Da Lu Xun". A total of 14 collections and 13 donated books are available for experts and audiences to taste.
Changle Rong, the former deputy museum of Lu Xun Memorial Hall, donated a full set (78 volumes in total) of the 2021 edition of The Complete Works of Lu Xun Manuscripts to the Memorial Hall at the site of Zuo Lian. This set of books contains more than 32,000 pages of images of Lu Xun’s manuscripts, an increase of nearly 15,000 pages compared with the published manuscripts, and includes all Lu Xun’s manuscripts that have been collected and confirmed so far, many of which are of great significance for the first time. Le Rong said that the "Complete Works of Lu Xun" donated this time has extremely high red cultural value, and the story of continuing the red blood can educate and inspire future generations.
Wang Xirong, the former director of Lu Xun Memorial Hall, said that he had participated in the editing project of The Complete Manuscripts of Lu Xun. This set of books is the largest manuscript collection in China publishing industry at present, which uses the new concept of international manuscript study and expands the scope of collection.
Shen Qihua, a reporter from Xinmin Evening News Agency, donated the first volume of "The Forest on the Sea" and ten books of the Republic of China to the memorial hall at the site of the Left Alliance, among which eight were Lu Xun’s research works published from 1936 to 1949, and the other two were the works of Lu Ji and An E, members of the left-wing "Music Group" in the Republic of China. The Forest on the Sea is a collection of translations edited by Lu Xun after his death in Qu Qiubai. It was published in 1936. Only 500 copies were printed in the first edition, of which 100 were hardcover. The forest of the sea donated this time is the first edition of 1936, which is very rare.
The "Red Treasures" Collection Tasting will be launched by the four major memorial halls of the Communist Party of China, the National Flag Education Exhibition Hall, the Memorial Hall of the Left-wing League and the former residence of Li Bai Martyrs in combination with theme exhibitions and rich collection resources, aiming at strengthening the research and sharing of red collections, allowing more collections to meet the audience, better inheriting the red genes and continuing the red veins.
